Biography:
Enzo Arduini was born in Ferentino, Lazio (Italy), in 1952. Under the guidance of Prof. Giuseppe Modica and Adolfo Loreti, he studied painting at the Liceo Artistico (College of Art) of Frosinone. Then he continued his studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Academy of Fine Arts) in Rome, at the Avenali school of famous artists. It was here that the masters of Italian art taught, those who influenced the artistic and intellectual currents of 20th-century Europe-people like Marcello Avenali himself, Giorgio de Chirico, Renato Guttoso and others. Besides, for two years he worked at the Roman studio of Giuseppe Bertolini.
In 1972 Arduini left Italy and moved to Munich in Bavaria, Germany. After initial tentative approaches to the Bavarian art world, he finally decided for the first time to open a studio of his own, thus realizing a project he had long dreamed of!
There followed years of hard work, his creativity and his artistic talent earning ever more appreciation and respect - and not only from connoisseurs and collectors. As a result, his works of art became objects to be found in galleries, museums and institutions - and to be sought after by all who love originality, uniqueness, things aesthetic, things beautiful! During all those years, he never neglected his bond with Italy; on the contrary, he set up his artistic retreat in Tuscany, and it is here in his second studio that he preserves and works the mighty blocks of Carrara marble, here that he allows to season the trunks of cherry, walnut and chestnut, etc - all personally selected with great patience and originating from half of Europe. From these materials so jealously guarded have grown his unmistakable sculptures in marble and wood. From this studio have emerged some of his extraordinary ceramics and bronzes.
Arduini's works of art take as their point of reference Neo-Expressionism, following the archaic style with its clear, fluid and tranquil forms, often highly suggestive. The artist always imbues his works with an emotive appeal so forceful that they arouse strong feelings in the beholder. Arduini is one of the few artists to still prepare their paints themselves in accordance with the tradition of the Old Masters. In addition, the artist produces unique pieces for exclusive, distinctive jewellery in gold, silver and white gold, all decorated with beautiful gems or blown pearls of classic antiquity. Even the frames that embellish Arduini's works of art have been individually wrought by the artist and painted gold or silver using an ancient technique he has rediscovered!
Furthermore, Enzo Arduini works to order, not limiting himself to the composition of paintings but is also ready to consider tasks of a monumental nature such as fountains with mosaics, tombstones and sculptures in marble or bronze!
